Philips Reliability Engineer in Pune, India

Your challenge

  • Do you want to be a transformation leader, teaming up with over 20 Quality and Reliability professionals to support all Philips businesses globally with End-to-end (E2E) product Quality and Reliability?

  • Do you want to transform teams and organizations to embed Philips’ Design for Reliability capabilities ?

  • Do you want to play a leading role to raise the bar for development and operational quality and realize the company’s quality strategy and targets

You are responsible for

  • You will act as an ambassador and thought leader for PInS’ Quality and Reliability service propositions (e.g. Design for Reliability, Quality Engineering, Risk Management, Verification and Test, Requirements Engineering) based on in depth technical expertise and extensive working experience

  • You will take ownership to drive the implementation and growth of Design for -Six Sigma, -Reliability, -Testing and Manufacturing (DfX) capabilities and strategies in businesses, organizations and projects throughout the whole life cycle.

  • In alignment with local business management, you will identify opportunities and create roadmaps to improve quality and reliability of new or existing products and processes

  • You will propose actionable improvement strategies and gain support of local stakeholders for their execution

  • You will manage improvement projects and teams to implement sustainable changes

  • You will coach and grow senior colleagues towards higher skills and maturity in project management and consultancy skills

  • You will cooperate globally with innovation excellence programs and the business and grow a network with relevant stakeholders

  • You will actively contribute to the process design and deployment of the Philips Quality Management System in the area of Advanced Development and Product Development processes

  • You will actively participate in expert networks as well within Philips as externally in own professional field.

  • You will act in complex projects or programs to apply your skills to drive the service propositions via peer review, training and coaching

You are a part of

The Product Quality & Reliability team is part of Reliability Solutions service of Philips Innovation Services and is a dynamic group of more than 20 experts in the field of Reliability and Quality engineering. As part of the Q&R service, they have direct access to a broad range of product reliability test- and material analyze facilities and experts. All are DfSS Green belt or Black Belt, active in designing in or improving reliability of complex, innovative products and processes for our customers from both internal Philips businesses as well as external companies, located all over the world.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • MSc /PhD degree in relevant area of expertise; Discipline like Physics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience in customer oriented product development (preferably global) organizations

  • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant application and technology area, or capable to gain this quickly

  • A track record of global thought leadership in industrial or academic community on Quality and Reliability engineering principles for complex systems (including software)

  • In-depth knowledge and a proven track record in implementing and applying concepts in the fields of quality, reliability and problem solving in organizations

  • DfSS or DMAIC Black Belt/Master Black Belt, or equivalent by experience

  • Experience and track record in tools, concepts or procedures (e.g. FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, GMP, Design Controls, quality standards) are required.

  • You combine analytical and conceptual thinking, physical insight, flexibility and structured way of working to deliver sustainable project results

  • You are able to inspire people, lead and mobilize teams, with training and coaching capabilities.

  • An entrepreneurial attitude; establish improvements and results, acquisition skills, customer minded

  • Communication, change management, consultancy skills through all stakeholders levels within the business, verbally and in writing

  • You are a motivated self-propelling person, with determination to succeed and the ability to manage change.

  • Fluent in English

  • You are willing to travel a substantial part of the job.
