Hyatt Sous Chef in RAA ATOLL, Maldives

Description:

As a Sous Chef at Alil Akothaifaru, you will play a crucial role in managing our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to develop innovative menus that reflect our resort's unique blend of local and international flavors. Your leadership will inspire our team to deliver exceptional dining experiences that exceed our guests' expectations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and oversee all aspects of food preparation.

  • Develop and implement creative and seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and culinary traditions.

  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes served.

  • Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Monitor inventory and place orders for supplies as needed.

  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and continuously strive for culinary excellence.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a luxury resort or high-end restaurant.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.

  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Creative flair and a passion for developing unique and innovative dishes.

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Experience in working in remote locations or on islands is a plus.
