This role in summary

Provide functional support to the Racine facility by maintaining supplies, chemicals, and equipment components

for the operation and maintenance of the manufacturing operations and offices. Perform miscellaneous maintenance activities.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Issue supplies, chemicals, and equipment components from a secured stores department to employees requisitioning the items.

  • Record issuance utilizing established written or electronic methods.

  • Based on established stocking quantities, requisition supplies, chemicals, and equipment components to replenish stored items utilizing established written or electronic methods.

  • Based on information received from Maintenance skilled trades personnel, requisition non-stocked supplies and equipment components utilizing established written or electronic methods.

  • Verify timely receipt of requisitioned supplies, chemicals, and equipment components. Place received stored items into

  • Appropriate stocking locations and complete appropriate written or electronic documentation of inventory change. Forward requisitioned non-stocked items to Central Stores Lead Person.

  • Assist in General Maintenance and other personnel in answering technical questions about requisitioned items.

  • Follow up with the Central Stores Lead Person or General Maintenance Supervisor to determine the status of delinquent requisitioned items.

  • Recommend changes in the type or quantity of items stocked based on information received from facility personnel.

  • Maintain housekeeping in the Stores Department (including the Oil Room) in a safe and orderly manner that facilitates the efficient issuance and replenishment of stored items.

  • Based on information provided by Maintenance planning personnel accumulate stored supplies and equipment components to be provided to Maintenance skilled trades personnel for the completion of planned maintenance activities.

  • Conduct periodic verification inventories of stored items to reconcile recorded data with actual counts.

  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance assignments as directed by the Central Stores Lead Person or General Maintenance

  • Supervisor. Assignments may include but are not limited to, painting and bench work (i.e. equipment disposal).

  • Must be able to communicate and receive communications regarding safety components and job instruction.

Minimum requirements

  • Requires an Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline; or a high school diploma with three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Requires strong personal computer competency to operate inventory database and requisitioning software. Prefer knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Requires mechanical aptitude necessary to identify pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems parts.

  • Must be able to physically move 55-gallon drums and other heavy packages (up to 40 lbs) using appropriate material handling equipment.

  • Requires written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of facility employees and contractors.

  • Must have the ability to work alone and effectively with other people. Good attitude and attendance are also required.

Preferred skills and experiences

Must move throughout manufacturing plant, including exposure to noise, heat and moving machinery. Work

environment includes supplies/equipment component storage areas and Oil Room. Movement of heavy containers and packages

with appropriate material handling equipment required. Overtime may be required.
