Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Data Science and AI pillars of Microsoft Fabric.

The Synapse Analytics UX team is looking for a Content Designer II whose work reflects a passion for helping people get the most from their data. This person is energized by tackling complicated problems and curious about exploring new product interaction paradigms. The ideal candidate shows an affinity for designing cohesive experiences across multiple complex back-end services, a sensible and thorough pursuit of user delight, and a track record for delivering thoughtful and impactful products and services.

Responsibilities

  • UX Content Designers leverage their expertise in content strategy, information architecture, interaction design, and digital communication to shape the entire user journey. You'll collaborate to ensure each step in the customer's workflow is clear and aligned with Microsoft's brand voice principles: crisp and clear, warm and approachable, and ready to assist.

  • UX Content Designers work holistically across strategy, structure, and surface, partnering closely with cross-functional teammates to co-create the most efficient and effective customer experience.

  • Contribute to a cohesive vision and experience strategy for products or product lines.

  • Align business, brand, messaging, and design strategies across various customer communication channels.

  • Harness language as a design tool: planning, crafting, and refining names, messaging, UX flows, and in-product language, with a focus on testing and adaptation.

  • Operate within design systems: serving as a resource for Microsoft's brand voice, content style standards, terminology, UI patterns, and feature naming.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • ​Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design, copywriting, technical writing, writing (e.g. for marketing, advertising, e-commerce), brand design, or brand marketing

  • OR equivalent experience.​

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications ​​

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Arts, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience.​

Content Design IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
