The Cloud Ecosystem Security team is one of Microsoft's fastest growing businesses, with the mission to make the world safer and more productive for all. The team protects Azure, Microsoft's cloud platform, builds security product offerings for customers across clouds, and contributes to the global ecosystem of defenders, researchers and security policy makers.

As the Principal Product Manager, you will lead our efforts to build product features and capabilities for a new security marketplace offering. This exciting new product offering will help partners build on new security platform capabilities such as Security Copilot, extend capabilities of Microsoft’s existing security products (Defender, Sentinel and Purview across M365 and Azure), and offer organizations of all sizes a purpose-built, trustworthy one-stop marketplace that meets their security software needs. 

The Principal Product Manager will have be able to collaborate working across diverse and complex teams. Additionally, they will have customer empathy and have the ability to translate individual customer needs into requirements for broad platform experiences is critical. This leader will be passionate about building innovative new marketplace experiences for customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in identifying customers' unmet needs and market opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analyses.

  • Provide strategic guidance for defining the long-term vision and strategy for product/service features.

  • Lead the development of product framing memos, roadmaps, and user stories.

  • Define success criteria, metrics, and align with organizational goals.

  • Own the roadmap, prioritize backlog, and manage tradeoffs for feature areas.

  • Grow the adoption, usage and engagement of our marketplace adoption.

  • Guides partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., product management, architect) to determine user requirements within and across teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience designing, building, and shipping large marketplaces or scale cloud services.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience running engineering teams or projects with high ambiguity.

  • Experience working across disciplines and teams with high collaboration.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
