The Xbox Graphics team is seeking passionate developers to help deliver state-of-the-art Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) capabilities on Xbox and Windows. Responsibilities

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Software development work in a small team in your area of specialty on functionality, performance and quality

  • Engage directly with game developer partners to identify and fix specific issues, gather feedback, and gain insight into future product development

  • Own Software Development Kit (SDK) components that enable game developers to take full advantage of the GPU

  • Be a key stakeholder for quality, documentation and tooling

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C# or HLSL (High-Level Shader Language)

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years software development experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

P referred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer graphics

  • Demostrated communication and collaboration skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C# or HLSL (High-Level Shader Language)

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
