As a Principal Technical Program Manager in our team, you will be at the heart of Microsoft's efforts to optimize power utilization of our datacenters and develop groundbreaking tools and technologies. Responsibilities

  • You will guide and coach teams as they work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions. You will also guide teams to identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.

  • You’ll coach teams to define success criteria and provide expertise in knowledge to help them understand return on investment. You’ll also drive them to collaborate and ensure alignment on product management and release.

  • You will guide teams to deliver on feature roadmap, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and help teams lead governance programs.

  • You will oversee teams driving continuous improvements by using industry expertise to teach them to validate use cases and helping them partner with other departments to collect performance metrics. You’ll also guide teams to own customer support and ensure they participate in direct customer engagements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 6+ years of experience in the software or cloud services industry, with a focus on data center infrastructure and power management.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • 4+ years people management experience.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
