Northrop Grumman Operations and Integration Director for Space Park Site Operations (Director 1) in Redondo Beach, California

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an Operations and Integration Director based out of our Redondo Beach, CA facility. The Operations and Integration Director will report to the Space Park Site VP of Operations in Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) and will be responsible for leading strategic site planning for the Northrop Grumman Space Park site.

Key functions include:

  • Streamlining the operations and fine tuning the rhythm of the Site Operations team. Developing standard formats to improve reporting and aid in management, utilizing metrics to distill information into actionable data, to enable evaluation of the "State of the Site", and to evaluate whether the Site functions are meeting quality, affordability, and efficiency goals.

  • Coordinating across the Site leadership and Division leadership aligned to each sector for planning and day to day operations of the Site

  • Supporting Crisis Management efforts as defined by the VP Operations including support to Business Resumption activities. Ensuring the site has proper Business Recovery and Resumption Plans in place. Supporting the Crisis Management Team (CMT) and Executive Safety Council.

  • Leading the continuous improvement and streamlining of site processes and tools to drive toward greater affordability and efficiency

  • Leading efforts to identify, correct, and prevent systemic issues in site operations and facilities management including risk boards and preventative and corrective action boards

  • Co-leading the Space Park Infrastructure PCAB (IPCAB) to address corrective actions for facilities and infrastructure issues.

  • Serving as the key interface for collaboration with other Functions (HR, Communications, Facilities, EHSM, Security, Engineering, GSC, Mission Assurance, Legal), the Business Units, and Programs within the Strategic Space Sector and across other sectors resident at the Space Park site

  • Collaborating with other Sites within the Space Sector, with other Sectors, and with Corporate to develop and implement operational initiatives

  • Developing briefings, media-sites, Town Halls, employee communications, etc, for conveying key messages and status of site initiatives and issues to executive leadership and employees who are resident at the site and to all levels of Strategic Space Division leaders.

The successful candidate in this position will gain broad exposure across multiple Sector functions and programs. This position requires strong interpersonal skills in order to lead, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external executive leadership.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience

  • Must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances with the ability to obtain and maintain up to TS/SSBI:

  • Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years

  • OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years

  • Proven record of leading teams to meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements

  • Proven record of developing/implementing action plans to improve program and/or function performance

  • Hands-on experience of developing/Implementing robust metrics, root cause/corrective actions, and risk and opportunity management.

  • Knowledge of functional management (e.g., staffing, resource planning, training) and Program Management (cost account management, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort)

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward), organizational skills, and ability to multi-task

  • Possess credibility to engage with internal and external customers or stakeholders at the Vice President level

  • Strong team-building/partnership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive teams with engaged team members and lead through influence

  • Demonstrated ability to partner across organizational boundaries (i.e., cross-Sector, cross-site, cross-discipline, cross-function, cross-program) as part of a top performing team

  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational layers, from individual contributor through Executive Leadership

  • Knowledge of the Programs resident at the Space Park site, Business Units, Engineering organizations, and Site Functions

  • Active Top Secret/SSBI Clearance
