Job Description Summary

An an Outage Manager you will assist in leading preparation, planning, execution and close out of planned/emergent outage events for steam turbine and generator agreement. You will assist leadership of complex outages for your assigned location(s) wherever possible, given the need to achieve target utilization levels.

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Support in outage event preparation including outage schedule development, TFA/craft labor/cost planning, customer management – pre/post outage meetings, mobilization planning, JCE execution and event close out.

  • Assist onsite execution (deputy site lead) with large teams during assigned outages.

  • Support on job cost tracking and productivity.

  • Support with project quotation development including work scope, site condition check, preliminary safety and risk analysis to identify potential issues or obstacles and to minimize cost impact for site execution.

  • Support overseeing proper execution documentation is prepared, used, reviewed, stored and delivered including Field Procedure, Quality procedures, EHS procedures and Customer Outage Reports.

  • Perform administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely and thorough basis.

  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality and safety.

  • In some cases, take over the site lead managing all of the points above.

  • May be assigned to other duties to help proactively drive our Steam Power core values.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Recognised Time served Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Studies.

  • 8+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge on steam turbine and/or generator maintenance.

  • Fluent in English.

  • PC proficiency, web applications including Excel skills.

  • This role requires extensive travel. Applicants must be willing and able to travel significantly without geographical restriction.

Desired characteristics:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.

  • Strong team leader in dynamic, energetic customer site environments.

  • Ability to work under high pressure and constraint time, committed and process oriented.

  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and effectively in a cross functional team.

  • Able to act as a senior Steam Power representative on any assigned outage.
