We are seeking a Senior Director of Web and Digital Channel Marketing to lead our digital marketing efforts, with a focus on defining content marketing strategy and governance, building collaboration with local markets, strategic analysis and reporting, optimizing cross-functional workflows and vendor management. This role plays a crucial role in enhancing Ascension’ online presence, patient consideration and conversion strategy.

Position Summary:

Ascension is looking for a highly skilled Senior Director of Web and Digital Channel Marketing to lead digital marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital content (web, app, social etc.) publishing specifically Sitecore, CMS management, digital asset management, content optimization, online reputation management, online content creation and data management, Google publishing and business listings, offsite search, SEO, social media and other digital platforms and channels to support the broader marketing and engagement strategy. Reporting directly to the VP- Channel Strategy & Ops, Growth Marketing & Digital Experience, this role is instrumental in elevating Ascension’s digital presence and engagement across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop holistic content marketing strategy in partnership with Marketing, product and experience teams, to improve consumer engagement, reduce friction in the consumer journey and support acute and long-term health outcomes.

  • Partner with paid media and demand generation teams to drive better targeting throughout the customer journey and create relevant, compelling content.

  • Collaborate and communicate with national and regional marketing teams to ensure effective and transparent strategic partnership, i.e., leading monthly webinars, quarterly business reviews, etc., and to drive velocity in digital and marketing initiatives.

  • Lead process and platform improvement in support of streamlined workflows, financial stewardship and better consumer experience.

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Experience team in elevating the voice of the customer, leveraging customer insights to tailor marketing experiences and drive strategic and operational enhancements.

  • Utilize data analytics to track, measure, and report on marketing performance, including competitive analysis to inform content marketing, SEO strategies in evolving Gen AI/ChatGPT environment.

  • Effectively manage team responsible for:

  • CMS Management: Manage and optimize the Sitecore Content Management System (CMS) for efficient content publishing and user experience, in collaboration with technologies, engineering, studio and other partners for consistent roadmaps and aligned workstreams Leads marketing domain management.

  • Website Publishing: Oversee website publishing and management, ensuring content is consistently up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with brand standards.

  • Digital Asset Management: Lead the organization and management of digital asset platform(s) for optimized and responsive integration across marketing platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

  • Online Content Optimization: Develop and implement strategies for online content optimization and SEO, to improve search rankings and user engagement, monitoring performance to meet business goals and implementing best practice - particularly for competitive healthcare discovery and findability for consumers, patients, providers, friends and family. Responsible for fluency in Sitecore functionality for SEO performance, YouTube SEO performance, and online content roadmap in alignment with technologies and studio partners.

  • Online Forms and Lead Generation: Develops and optimizes all online points of conversion including online forms and lead generation paths, including proficiency in FormAssembly, FormStack, Regfox and similar platforms.

  • Offsite and Local Search Strategy: Lead and oversee offsite and local search strategy and team, managing Google search strategy, including overseeing and managing 46,000+ Google Business Listings. Proficiency in Google algorithm and dedicated to managing response to ongoing updates.

  • Online Reputation Management: Lead Google ratings and reviews strategy including online reputation management alignment with consumer experience and service recovery. Manage nearly 200,000 Google reviews annually.

  • Online Content Creation: Oversee the creation of SEO-driven online content, including patient education, provider education, articles, videos, and infographics to support findability, discovery and the path into conversion.

  • Social Media Strategy and Publishing: Oversee social media strategy, editorial calendar and community management. Develop and execute social media publishing strategies to increase word of mouth shareability and engagement across paid and organic channels. Establish best practice, policy and governance for social media content publishing that supports business goals and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Content Marketing, SEO, Social strategy development

  • Website Publishing: Demonstrated expertise in website publishing, including content management, updates, and user experience optimization.

  • CMS Management: Proficiency in managing and optimizing Sitecore Content Management Systems (CMS) to ensure efficient content publishing and site performance.

  • Digital Asset Management: Strong organizational skills for overseeing digital asset management, including storage, accessibility, and version control.

  • Online Content Optimization: In-depth knowledge of online content optimization, including SEO best practices, to improve search rankings and user engagement.

  • Online Content Creation: Proven ability to create and oversee the creation of compelling online content, including articles, videos, and infographics, aligned with brand messaging and audience preferences.

  • SEO Expertise: Proficiency in optimizing website content for search engines, monitoring SEO performance, and implementing SEO best practices.

  • Social Media Strategy: Adept at developing and executing social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement across various platforms.

  • Social Media Publishing: Ability to create and publish social media content in Sprinklr that resonates with the audience, adheres to brand guidelines, and drives social engagement

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in digital and web channel marketing with a focus on healthcare, hospitality, or financial service industries.

  • Proven experience in website publishing, CMS publishing, digital asset management, content optimization, Google search marketing, SEO, and social media publishing.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficiency in Google optimization, and Content Management Systems specifically Sitecore, social media platforms specifically Sprinklr.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Results-oriented with a focus on driving measurable online outcomes.
