PACCAR Inc. Aftermarket Design Engineer in Renton, Washington
Requisition Summary PACCAR Parts is seeking an energetic, independent engineer to support our growth initiatives, including liaisingbetween Kenworth Truck Company and PACCAR Parts. Position will be located in Kirkland, WA. Job Functions / Responsibilities Participate in design and development of truck components. Utilize Creo Parametric to create optimized parts, investigate layout options, create assemblies of complex designs, and develop serviceable breakdowns. Release detailed component drawings to convey requirements. Create Engineering Change Notices to document service level component requirements. Perform freedom to operate investigations related to the development of truck components. Make use of PACCAR systems to manage implementation of project scope, schedule, budget, and functional requirements. Assist in product change risk assessment in support of aftermarket product substitutions. Work closely with multiple PACCAR divisions. Manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously. Qualifications & Skills BSME required; Masters degree in business or engineering and P.E. certificate preferred 3-5 years of experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components or related experience required Proficiency using Creo Parametric or other solids modeling software preferred (or similar 3D modeling software) Experience in wiring design using Mentor Graphics and knowledge of DC power distribution, management, protection, fusing, and routing systems, practices and tools desired. Ability to utilizeengineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems. Ability to manage time and resources, and a familiarity with project management methods and tools. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with multiple business divisions and personnel levels. Ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple-yet-accurate manner. Understanding of design for six sigma methodology and GD&T. Competent with personal computer software such as word processing, databases, and spreadsheets. Requires independent judgment and effective decision-making skills while working in a team environment. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $118,910.00 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
