Open Field Technical Account Manager

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the business results for the vegetables business, leading the Open Field (OPF) organizational efforts around all Michigan, Indiana and Ohio Key accounts in leading and managing the region in terms of Net Sales, OPEX, Gross Profit, Volume and Market Share, to maintain the Vegetable MS, and be able to increase double digit YOY growth.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Responsible for the company results in the region: Net Sales, Gross Profit, Market Share, Customer Share, OPEX, etc.

  • Develop, propose and implement, an OPF Strategy for the current stage, focused on Portfolio improvement, trait identification and resource allocation, that maintains and increases our MS in the region, on a Double-digit base, and improves our NPS as a leading choice for our key accounts and growers.

  • To have strong influence on internal stakeholders, such as marketing, finance, credit and collection, market development, supply chain, HR, etc., to assure the business continuity and operation in the region.

  • Develop and implement actions plans to have the right distribution channel to accomplish the business objectives for short and long term.

  • Provide dynamic leadership, recommend training, assistance, appraisal, motivation and development to our key customers to help them achieve their goals and build and capture value along the way.

  • Establish and implement a RADL segmentation and account planning process to properly use and maximize the resource available to achieve and exceed our financial targets.

  • Execute a trial plan of 4B and 5X varieties in partnership with Market Development within the territory.

  • Partner with Market Development in trialing activities of phase 4B, 5X varieties in local territory also including market extensions.

  • Maintain trialing footprint of 4B and 5X varieties in important markets within the territory.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required:

  • High School Diploma

  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment

  • Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations,

  • accidents, License suspension, etc.

  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise

  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written)

  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results

  • Excellent business acumen, account planning, influencing and critical thinking skills

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment

  • Strong computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions

  • Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork within a pod structure

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6 + year experience in Sales, marketing, account management or agriculture

  • Demonstrated product, portfolio and agronomic knowledge.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $91,135.38 to $136,703.06 Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
