About the role:

Responsible for monitoring key accounting and reporting activities of the organization’s Investment Banking Line of Business that rolls to the Advisory Segment for the Americas Region. The ideal candidate must be solution-oriented and have a passion for learning.

What you'll do:

  • Perform key accounting and reporting activities of the Investment Banking Line of Business which is FINRA regulated.

  • Support monthly close process, ensuring that all applicable financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely as well as analyzing and reviewing assigned financial statement accounts (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, etc.) and variances. Provide monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Management and Regulators as needed.

  • Ability to read contracts and ensure adherence of Revenue Recognition based on the terms outlined.

  • Ensure timely monthly reporting to Management to support FINRA filing.

  • Interact with internal and external auditors, management, and other functional finance team members as required to accomplish goals.

  • Interpret current accounting policies and practices; including the implementation of new operating procedures to improve efficiency.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience. Public accounting with a focus on audit, internal/SOX audit or relevant experience a plus.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred.

  • Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accouunting Standards (FASB) theories and practices.

  • Broad experience with large financial systems such as PeopleSoft is desired. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful.

  • External and internal audit/SOX compliance knowledge.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous information to top management.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare clear, concise financial reports. Must have ability to convey complex financial issues to nonfinancial users.

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles. Ability to problem-solve and work, both independently and working as a team.

  • Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

  • Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.

  • Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize critical deadlines.
