Job Summary

Supports the project management team by managing specific portions of solar project pre-construction activities including technical, construction, quality, cost control, and schedule. Coordinates project acquisition and engineering development activities, participates in major project contracting, permit completion, project turnover packages, and coordination and transfer of project documentation to Project Management teams. Major complex solar projects involving environmental and safety compliance exceeding $100M in capital expenditures per project. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Typically reports to Manager – Construction Projects or Manager-Site Construction.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • At least five (5) years of experience managing construction projects or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment with a preference for solar construction and project management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of major solar power plants, facilities, or equipment including but not limited to solar power technologies, AC/DC electrical systems, SCADA control systems, large civil projects, land management, and other balance-of-plant systems.

  • Detailed technical knowledge of large solar power plant systems, equipment, and operations.

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or Science/Environmental Science preferred plus at least five (5) years’ experience managing projects or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment.

  • Solar power construction management, facility management, or engineering experience preferred.

  • Must have good technical and cost management skills.

  • Experience working with EPC contractors in power generating construction industry preferred.

  • Strong communication and integration skills are required.

  • Ability to summarize information for management reporting required.

  • Ability to coordinate processes and provide leadership in a team environment.

  • Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.

  • Demonstrated computers skills.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor
