Boehringer Ingelheim Real World Evidence Analytics Co-Op in Ridgefield, Connecticut

Description

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op to join our Global Integrated Evidence department. This will be a full-time remote Co-Op position that runs approximately four (4) months in duration, beginning in July or August of 2024.

In this Co-Op, you will learn how epidemiology, biostatistics, and real-world evidence is used in the pharmaceutical industry, contribute to real world evidence (RWE) projects using real world data sources (e.g. claims, EHR), such as estimating incidence and prevalence of diseases, estimating burden of diseases, healthcare resource utilization, treatment patterns, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in RWE project discussions and provide input

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in PhD program in good academic standing.

  • Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the Co-Op.

  • Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester of 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.

  • Major must be related to the field of the Co-Op, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics, etc.

  • Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Trained epidemiologist, statistician, or data scientist with a strong methods background and strong statistical and analytical skills

  • Experience with statistical computing software such as R/Python/SAS

  • Experience desired in claims data/electronic medical records data

  • Good written and verbal English

  • Good and proactive working attitude

  • Willingness to collaborate with others

  • Good communication skills

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

This position offers an hourly wage of $33 per hour.
