Compensation Data

Description

To protect the assets of the BIPI OPU and to provide support to the Director, Contract Development, BI Managed Markets National Accounts by managing the analysis, negotiation, and execution of product discount and rebate agreements in a timely, accurate and fully compliant manner that optimizes product positioning in all applicable markets consistent with product agreements in support of the Organizations´ sales and marketing goals. The position also provides support to the Director, Contract Development in the development and execution of Value Based Contracts with Payers/PBM customers.   • This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the National Account Sales Team, develop comprehensive financials/analytics and sound business cases to support Brand Strategies and product access goals. This includes but not limited to:

  • Reconciling disparate data sets and creating solution oriented approaches to develop sound analytics.

  • Maintain existing Commercial and Part D 360 models, with the ability to adapt and customize to specific account needs.

  • Develop flexible customized models to analyze various contracting approaches and options.

  • Facilitate strategic and tactical account access discussions that ensure BI is making timely decisions with well-balanced analysis and intuition.

  • Represent assumption based analytics and ambiguous circumstances where the risks and unknowns are clearly identified and articulated.

  • Ensure all business proposals and contract language is consistent with laws, regulations, and internal guidelines.

  • Simplify complex modeling into insightful, understandable internal and external presentations to all levels of the organization.

  • Respond to market needs by initiating and leading Value Based Contracting Development efforts. This includes but not limited to active participation on all VBC core development teams with HEOR, Legal, Medical, Marketing and Sales.

  • Translate account needs into actionable VBC agreements which involves managing the relationships and work flow between HEOR, Legal, and Sales.

  • Serve as the Contracts Development Center of Excellence and subject matter expert on VBC contracts concepts, customization, facilitation, and internal first step authorization.

  • Execute VBCs in collaboration with National and regional Contract Development team that minimize financial and other risks to BI while maximizing patient experience (access) at the account levels. Negotiate concessions.

  • Participate as a representative of the Contracts Development Team in face-to-face account discussions on VBC opportunities.

  • Develop and evolve Best Practices VBC with in BI by working with external partners and attending workshops to ensure BI is active in recognition of leading the VBC way in the marketplace.

  • Ensure all account financials and events are appropriately communicated to the Gross-to Net and Forecasting teams.

  • Review complex contracting language that includes crafting executable contracting terms from approved business cases and customer negotiations. Understand all aspects of the account contract to be able to identify risks and capitalize on opportunities to refine language for clarity and evolutions in the marketplace. Continuously improve archival system to ensure accuracy for government filing and internal compliance, as well as internal efficiencies.

  • Lead a direct report(s) creating a performance based culture with clear accountability and urgency for executing projects within the national account. Foster an environment that promotes smart decision-making, and flexibility - while reinforcing and ensuring compliance with boundaries for collaborative communications.

  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with external customers to share and request information, provide contract data, and assist developing contract price proposals.

  • Participate on various cross collaboration project teams, addressing a variety of business needs, including process enhancements, system initiatives and reporting.

  • As required, attend sales and other company meetings, industry conferences, and customer meetings to stay current on the competitive environment, challenges, and other relevant issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor´s degree from an accredited institution with a focus in Finance, Statistics or Business Administration and/or professional training and/or ten (10) years of relevant industry experience.

  • Master´s degree preferred.

  • Must have a minimum two (2) years of experience in pharmaceutical Marketing, Market Access or health plan/payer experience.

  • Direct experience with payers preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation and project management skills.

  • Strategic thinking skills.

  • History of innovative thinking with proven track record of ability to implement.

  • Previous negotiation experience is preferred.

  • History of successful performance in management of payor accounts preferred.

  • Proficiency in MSOffice, Outlook and database applications preferred.

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic team oriented environment.

  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and prioritize workload to maximize efficiencies and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
