Job Description:

Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The Credit Card Portfolio Marketing department focuses on customer life cycle management and delivering award-winning customer experiences to drive financial results. The Portfolio Business Strategy Portfolio Program Operations develops, manages and communicates key initiatives and operational frameworks both within Portfolio department and cross-functionally.​

The Principal Operational Excellence will implement frameworks which facilitate an operating environment to deliver a consistent best-in-class customer experience and flawless execution. In addition, the Principal will provide overall program management and thought leadership to problem solve and implement solutions across key dimensions: operational performance, process design, policies and product decisions, development of procedures, controls, and metrics and overall improvements to service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to drive organizational engagement with initiatives that drive compliance management and ensure standards/processes are aligned to support goals.

  • Implement a framework and provide solutions to Portfolio Product Families to implement the components of the compliance management system.

  • Become the subject matter expert (SME) in understanding the program framework, components, and tools.

  • Support the business to ensure adherence to the framework and enable efficient execution, close collaboration with business stakeholders and program support teams.

  • Deliver training and coaching necessary to assist stakeholders and customers in understanding and expectations of the program.

  • Identify effectiveness of operational risk management processes and develop controls to ensure adherence to risk management standards.

  • Provide timely communication and transparency; work across key stake holders proactively communicating with all levels of the organization to drive implementation, execution and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, information technology, engineering, arts or related.

  • 6+ years of experience in Operational Management, Process Management, Technology, Lean/Six Sigma, Operations, Risk Management, or related field.

  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Operational Management, Process Management, Technology, Lean/Six Sigma, Operations, Risk Management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, business, finance, information technology, engineering, or arts.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, Agile certification.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
