About the Opportunity:

The Sales Operations Portfolio Manager provides opportunity and bid leadership within a portfolio of a specific market(s) or solution area(s) team across their relevant region. The Sales Operations Portfolio Manager supports the Regional Sales Operations Director and Team Leaders to instill an inclusive culture within the team that values diversity of thought and lives Jacobs’ Culture of Caring. You need to be effective at bringing the ideas of others to market; have good judgment about which ideas and suggestions that work; and be able to manage the work winning and creative process of others

A Sales Operations Portfolio Manager, you facilitate and lead the application of the end-to-end Relationship-Based Sales (RBS) process to help position Jacobs to win projects, programs and develop meaningful client relationships.

You focus on the portfolio of a specific market(s) or solution area(s) and drive overall growth for this market/solution area in partnership with our Outside Sales Market Directors. Creating a team environment, being selective on the opportunities we target, and following a bespoke process are all parts of the role. Autonomy is a given, but the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment is important to being successful. You collaborate and challenge the Sales Lead and Capture Manager/Operations in developing distinctive value propositions that enhance our customers’ competitive position. For specific opportunities you act as the proposal manager, while act as the overall quality manager for all other client deliverables relating to our RBS process

Leverage global network to identify and put forward Jacobs’ unique capabilities and resources. Organize, direct, and motivate multidiscipline opportunity teams to develop sales deliverables across the portfolio to grow the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Sales Leads and Capture Managers/Operations to develop B&P estimate, gain approval, regularly monitor B&P spending, and report any significant variances of the overall portfolio and specific opportunities

  • Develop understanding in review of client terms & conditions, pricing strategies and Jacobs’ financial metrics

  • Develop and maintain qualification materials including project descriptions, experience matrices/overviews, safety and quality statistics, capability statements

  • Work with Operations to capture and develop performance proofs and client testimonials relevant to the portfolio

  • Collaborate with Sales Lead and Capture Manager/ Operations in developing distinctive value propositions

  • Provide support to Global Sales e.g., timely preparation of press releases, providing input to our Annual Report, and support of Global Sales initiatives as appropriate

  • Partner with Market Sales Director, Head of Sector and S&T in key Opening Game activities, e.g., client, competitor & market research, development of Market Roadmaps

  • For the industry sectors pursued by your team, develop an understanding of our corporate, regional, and office qualifications including technical, managerial, commercial, and competitive strengths that differentiate Jacobs in the marketplace

  • Leverage global network to identify & convey Jacobs’ unique capabilities & resources

  • Support Client Go / No Go and Account Reviews

  • Organize, direct, and motivate a multidiscipline opportunity team to develop Middle Game win plans and strategic sales actions and deliverables, or stimulate the assignment of teams for opportunities within the portfolio

  • Actively work with Sales and Operations to develop, implement and monitor Middle Game actions, using Client Success Platform (CSP) [Salesforce] & SharePoint

  • Develop Win Plan (Gaps to Value Proposition), SWOT analysis, and Executive Summary. Identify execution/delivery teams, coach and support them in the win strategy

  • Analyze client requests & develop response plan (B&P budget, response team, compliance checklist, writing plan, response outline, schedule)

  • When leading an opportunity, manage and work with team to develop response sections, especially value propositions and Executive Summaries or else check compliance of opportunities within the portfolio

  • Ensure on-time delivery of any response within the portfolio
