Title Counter Sales Representative Description Summary: The Counter Sales Representative plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating value for those we serve by servicing our counter customers. The Counter Sales Representative position is responsible for accurately and efficiently picking orders for the counter. This position works independently to ensure the preparation, delivery, receipt and coordination of all customer orders at the counter while delivering excellent customer service. This individual is a self-starter who exemplifies the company culture by setting an example for their co-workers. The Counter Sales Representative promotes our culture, our 5 P's and creating value for those we serve. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Service the business and industrial establishment customer as well as walk-in customer by providing projects or information on products or services Pick and prepare customer pipe and wire in an efficient and accurate manner Picks customer orders using an RF gun, motorized cart and/or forklift Build and maintain customer relationships Provide project demonstrations to qualified customers on request Maintain counter area, displays and stock levels in an orderly fashion Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own vendor's production and delivery schedule Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales orders for orders obtained Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvements Work side-by-side with the inside sales, and distribution teams to ensure quality customer service Drive for continuous improvement Promote our culture and 5 P's Critical Success Factors: Execute duties with highest regard for safety, continuous improvement and cost reduction Customer focused with a high rate of customer satisfaction Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlines Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback Ability to make sound decisions and seek buy-in from others Ability to understand and implement our processes and procedures Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and develop solutions Must lead by example by displaying a positive work ethic and attitude Ability to learn, grow, and adapt to change Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines Excellent customer service orientation Self Motivated Dependable Drive for continuous improvement Job Requirements/Specifications: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of a two year degree preferred Previous sales experience preferred Electrical product knowledge is preferred Ability to lift 70 lbs required; lift 100 lbs at times Ability to use fork lift equipment required Demonstrated computer skills Ability to work with Excel documents Knowledge of Eclipse and RF Scan is preferred Work Environment & Physical Demands: Consistent, more than 2/3s of the time Standing Walking Lifting Carrying Working with hands Working with fingers Talking Hearing Vision acuity-near Works with others Customer contact Work indoors Frequent, from 1/3 to 2/3s of the time Pushing Bending @ the waist Twisting upper body Kneeling Reaching Vision acuity-far Field of vision Color vision Some, less than 1/3 of the time Sitting Climbing Balancing Crouching Crawling Depth perception Vision adjustment Humid Noise Vibration Confined area High places Mechanical hazards Electrical hazards Occasional, less than 1 time per week Driving Works alone Temperature changes Work outdoors The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
