Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is conducting a search for a full-time metabolic surgeon to join our busy surgical practice. We have a dedicated bariatric surgery practice which is supported by a multidisciplinary team that encompasses all aspects of evaluation, medical and surgical therapy, including comprehensive bariatric screening, evaluation, education, and treatment.

Mayo Clinic is a distinguished academic medical center. The three shields of the Mayo Clinic represent clinical practice, education, and research, and the ideal candidate for this position is first and foremost an excellent clinical surgeon with expertise in bariatrics. Experience in research, computer vision, data analytics, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence is preferred.

We extend this opportunity to a board-certified/board-eligible general surgeon who is bariatric surgery fellowship trained. Successful candidates should possess excellent clinical skills and a strong interest in teaching. The position includes participation in education efforts for the minimally invasive surgery fellowship program as well as the ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program. Our center has significant infrastructure and collaborative atmosphere to support individual’s professional pursuits, including research, education, administration, quality projects, and simulation.
