Medical Insurance Paid Time Off Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Basic Life Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Employer Paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Adoption Assistance Plan Qualifications: College certificate, associate degree, or equivalent experience required Excellent computer skills required Medical background and Epic experience preferred Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong math skills with a basic understanding of the revenue cycle Understanding of Provider Based Billing (PBB) preferred Knowledge of medical reimbursement, third party billing, and insurance terminology preferred Ability to work as a team and independently in a busy work environment Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Job Responsibilities: Completes assigned accounts and work queues within Epic and claims clearing house software in accordance with policies and procedures set forth. Reviews and completes retroactive coverage changes to ensure claims file to the correct payer. Performs charge corrections so charges file accurately for the coverage assigned. Resolves claim errors promptly and accurately in accordance with procedures and payer guidelines. Updates data elements on claims with a high level of integrity to ensure claims file with correct information. Resolves claim errors within the claim scrubber. Completes daily acknowledgement of clearing house claims. Analyzes and completes quarterly MHA reports. Prepares, processes, and submits third party claims promptly and accurately in accordance with procedures. Processes payments, adjustments, and reason/remark codes while working claims in work queues. Reviews adjustment and refund requests for accuracy. Researches patient account and clearing house problems with insurance carriers and brings problems to resolution. Audits and reviews remittance advices for accurate payments and adjustments upon request. Reviews payer and clearing house communiques and reports updates to appropriate personnel. Audits procedures regarding the accurate capture and maintenance of system information, as well as audits current procedures to maximize efficiency. Assists coworkers to follow and understand procedures. Reviews internal tickets and works toward resolution. Follows procedures regarding the accurate capture and maintenance of system information. Steps "out of the box" by thinking creatively and brings forth new ideas and suggestions to their supervisor. Assists with system upgrades and implementations. Active member and participant of focus groups. Attends education and training seminars. Other duties as assigned.
