The Department of Imaging Sciences Emergency Division at the University of Rochester (URMC), in Rochester, NY, is actively seeking an ABR certified/eligible radiologist for a full-time faculty position. Recognized as a world leader in radiological testing, education, and research, the Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester is at the forefront of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging technologies and is equipped with state-of-the-art IT and capture equipment. The selected candidate should possess expertise in all areas of imaging and have completed a fellowship. UR Medicine has a dedicated Emergency Imaging division which currently works from 10pm to 8 am. The shifts are one week on with the following 2 weeks with non-clinical responsibility. Fully staffed the division will have 6 full time radiologists supervising 2 overnight residents and a possible emergency radiology fellow. Option exists to divide shifts to include a portion of time with the Emergency Division and a balance to include another sub-specialty area of imaging.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive and are indexed to national productivity-based standards for both community and academic based radiologists and include 403B and 457 plans, disability insurance, and tuition benefits. As a non-profit institution, service time may count toward the public service federal loan forgiveness program. Faculty enjoy competitive combined vacation and conference time each year. Individually managed professional accounts intended to promote professional development and participation in national professional and advocacy organizations exceed that of national academic peers. The department has maintained an average of one day per week of dedicated academic/administrative time to allow for professional development.

The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester is a practice of approximately 90 radiologists and 25-30 residents and fellows, and is actively expanding fellowship, research and advocacy programs. Technical highlights include state of the art information technology, 3T MRI, a PET/MRI, Dual Energy CT and digital PET/CT. The department’s PACS system is integrated into a comprehensive electronic clinical information system. Annual study volumes surpass 900,000 across multiple locations throughout our region. The majority of faculty children attend excellent public schools with many subsequently admitted to highly competitive universities. The Finger Lakes region of New York is famous for its outdoor participatory sports and is the 3rd largest wine region in the United States.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
