This position manages staff and leads the development of transportation projects within the North Area of the Metro (Anoka and Ramsey counties); sets priorities for long-range programs within the district; leads, monitors, and assures accountability of project delivery; coordinates transportation projects with local and regional agencies; supports the District Engineer by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with corridor advocacy groups; and provides effective communication and maintains positive working relationships with legislators, mayors, city councils, county commissioners, and others.
The work location of this position is the Water’s Edge building in Roseville. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid of in office and teleworking. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field; AND
· Three years of managerial experience OR four years of professional supervisory experience (supervising professional employees) in transit/transportation planning and/or project delivery.

· Technical: Knowledge of engineering principles and/or transportation planning principles; knowledge of major transportation planning, project development, and program delivery efforts.
· Management: Experience developing and managing large, complex budgets and allocating resources; understanding of transportation funding; and experience managing and leading teams.
· Human Relations: Experience establishing collaborative relationships with internal and external partners including public officials, citizens, legislators, and other special interest groups.
· Communication : Experience communicating vision and messages to your team, stakeholders, and interest groups.
