Cooke Aquaculture Health & Safety Trainer in Saint George, New Brunswick

The Role
As a result of continued growth, we are seeking a Safety Trainer in our St. George, NB office. This position will report directly to the Director of Health & Safety. The successful candidate will have a passion for facilities, health, safety and wellbeing, who can share their knowledge and enthusiasm to an audience spanning front line workers to senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for, organize and conduct hands-on, participatory health and safety training sessions
Lead safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification and competency testing
Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety training courses
Travel to deliver courses, in all four Atlantic Provinces, including overnight and multi-day sessions, meetings, conferences, seminars, or other meetings
Willingness to become certified to deliver additional safety courses as business needs require
Qualifications
Certified Trainer for Mobile Powered Equipment, specifically Industrial Lift Trucks, Elevating Work Platforms, Telehandlers
Knowledge of Provincial OHS Act and Regulations and Canada Labour Code
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an emphasis on quality and attention to detail reflected in your work
3 – 5 years’ experience working in the Health & Safety field
Certified Trainer for Workplace First Aid an asset
Certified Trainer for Fall Protection and Confined Space an asset
Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) an asset
