Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a GS-1152-09 PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0749000 in FAC 42C100 and is part of the MO 139th Airlift Wing. APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a HARD TO FILL Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining position. This position is also advertised on AGR Announcement #AF24-039. Responsibilities Implements preliminary (advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapon systems and schedules immediate maintenance for transient aircraft. Designates, maintains and monitors current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to ensure actuality and compliance with flying schedules. Monitors progress of job completion by dispatched personnel. Controls maintenance on assigned aircraft and related support and training equipment. Determines the source of supply for cannibalization actions. Coordinates with Quality Assurance on functional check flight (FCF) requirements, Air Operations on flying schedule, other maintenance shops for coordination of repair work and with other functional areas as required. Requests necessary support services such as fire fighting activity standby, fuel and defuel and civil engineer support. Directs physical movement of aircraft and aerospace ground equipment. Controls the maintenance communications and transportation systems to provide for the effective transmission of information and movement of material and maintenance personnel. Makes required inputs to the automated data system and retrieves data and/or computer generated products as required. Conducts training of assigned military personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade - SMSgt (E-8) Minimum Military Grade - TSgt (E-6) Enlisted - AFSC 2AXXX, 2WXXX, or 2RXXX Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates you can reason in quantitative terms, can express yourself orally and in writing, and understand the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of a production activity GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must 24 months of specialized experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; schedules various phases of projects into the production facility; coordinate and develop operational maintenance requirements for aerospace vehicles, propulsion units/associated equipment and related support training equipment; schedules and conducts daily maintenance planning meeting to refine and incorporate unscheduled maintenance requirements; and follows up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranges for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. The specialized experience must also demonstrate experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. Education This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
