Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Salinas, California

Description We are offering a role for a meticulously organized Bilingual Payroll Technician in the manufacturing industry, located in Salinas, California. As part of our team, you will primarily focus on the accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring that all relevant records are maintained and updated accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and validate payroll records daily from different departments and manually confirm for accuracy.

• Manually calculate total hours worked daily, record time in the system and comply with mandated law regarding breaks and meals.

• Process internal payroll reports checking for accuracy.

• Handle reconciliation of payments, sorting, and distribution of checks to employees.

• Calculate and input in the system the garnishments, according to Franchise Tax Board and Family Support Services regulations.

• Prepare monthly payroll reimbursements.

• Manage and store payroll records by scanning and organizing.

• Support with reconciliation of weekly and quarter-end periodic tax files.

• Conduct other payroll-related duties including system testing for updates.

• Use accounting software systems and other tools like Microsoft Excel, Kronos Timekeeping System, About Time, and others to perform duties.

• Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Requirements • Must have at least 2 years of experience in a Payroll Clerk role within the manufacturing industry.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and Ceridian is required.

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and Kronos Timekeeping System is a plus.

• Knowledge of About Time software is desirable.

• Must have a solid understanding of Accounting Functions and Benefit Functions.

• Ability to handle Check Processing tasks efficiently.

• Spanish language skills are beneficial.

• Must be able to perform tasks without any discriminatory bias.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines is required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
