FIELD ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY Receive and review submittals, write and track RFI's and process change orders, prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes, maintain construction drawings, assist with change order pricing, provide marketing assistance as required, assist the project manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration, layout and/or quality control, etc. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-preform on large commercial scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for layout (surveying) work. Provide and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control by use of a level, GPS, total station, etc., including organized documentation of survey notes. * Assists in gathering quantities of work in place and reporting same for the weekly and monthly Cost Control reports; on small projects, the FE may also do the time keeping. * Checks concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including all embedded items, block outs, elevations etc. before placement of concrete, to ensure correct location, elevation, pour width, etc. * Assists Foremen and subcontractors with interpretation of plans and specifications. * Works closely with the Project Superintendent to avoid duplication of effort, as well as to report individual progress and activities so they can be continually evaluated and corrected, if necessary. * Helps manage the QC process. Implements/creates QC checklists, BIM issues, project photos etc. Completes daily reports and provides information for executive reports. * Attends pre-installation and subcontractor meetings, as well as weekly staff meetings to report on assigned tasks and to coordinate with other management team members.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assists with quality control, safety programs, and coordination of subcontractors as delegated by the Project Superintendent. * Coordinates material deliveries by checking material requirements in advance and comparing them with the delivery status. Additionally, verify materials delivered to the job for quantity, quality, and condition, and check for missing and/or damaged items. * Directs a small work force (e.g., a small labor crew) to gain supervisory experience. * Prepare daily / weekly reports as related to construction crews, personal and subcontractor progress, and issue tracking.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Preferred four-year degree in Construction Management and/or four years of experience in commercial construction.
