The Enterprise Spreading Governance Manager will operate within the Credit Risk Management (CRM) team which is part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) group of Zions Bancorporation, N.A. (Bank). Working within CRM provides a unique opportunity to develop a great foundation for a banking career, as employees are exposed to a broad scope of credit, lending, and risk management topics.

The Enterprise Spreading Governance Manager is an essential role in the Credit Risk Management team and serves as the main resource for administering internal controls, policies and procedures related to financial statement spreading and credit risk assessment accuracy. This role sits in the second line of defense and partners with Line of Business Leaders, Credit Managers, Line Officers, and Analysts to monitor and promote accurate and consistent financial statement spreading and credit risk assessment procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate Enterprise Spreading Governance Program including maintaining Corporate Financial Statement Spreading Standards, Procedures, Guidance Documentation, and Quality Assurance Review (QAR) framework.

  • Partner with Credit Managers, Loan Officers, and Credit Analysis to promote accurate and consistent financial statement spreading and credit risk assessment procedures.

  • Develop and deliver timely performance monitoring and reporting.

  • Support technology partners and supply chain management in all aspects of spreading system maintenance and vendor management activities.

  • Support the Enterprise Spread Working Group and business lines as subject matter expert on statement spreading systems, policies, accounting principles and processes.

  • Resolve conflict and make decisions on appropriate accounting principles and spreading treatments.

  • Collaborates with CRM Risk Grade model owners to ensure alignment of corporate spreading standards with the use of spreading data in Risk Grading model solutions.

  • Provide input into planning, budgeting, implementing, maintaining costs and long-term strategies. Maintains accountability for employee development, goal planning, and writing performance reviews.

  • Makes recommendations to improve spreading governance processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or other related field.

  • 6+ yrs. experience with lending, credit, financial spreading and analysis, financial spreading systems, accounting principles and practices or other directly related experience.

  • Managerial or supervisory experience.

  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP Accounting Standards, Corporate Spreading Standards, Spreading platform tools and Quality Assurance Review procedures.

  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage complex projects.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate complex topics in simple terms.

  • Ability to analyze information and develop strategy recommendations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to make sound decisions, meet deadlines and recommendations regarding Enterprise Spreading Governance.

  • Ability to manage, develop and mentor staff.

    Location:

    This position can be located in any division within the Zions Bancorporation footprint; preferably Salt Lake City, UT, Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, or Denver, CO and is required to work in the office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with the option to work from home Tuesday and Friday to allow for flexibility.

    Salary Range

  • This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $110,000 - $130,000 annually plus bonus depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location
