ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring for full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist III (NYQ), 2 openings. The Medical Laboratory Scientist III (NYQ) in the Microbial Immunology I laboratory, will provide services of a technical and non-technical nature for Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and immunoblot testing to detect a variety of infectious diseases and platelet-specific antibodies; will operate/maintain instrument platforms such as automated liquid handlers, manual and electronic pipettors, and incubators; perform routine and complex lab tests to provide physicians with rapid and accurate results; will participate in preparing specimens for processing; perform waived, moderate, and highly complex analytical processes; establish, perform, and document quality assurance, quality control, and equipment maintenance; confirm and verify results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; implement new laboratory protocols and requirements as assigned and needed; manage large test volume fluctuations for tests with seasonal peaks, correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of factors affecting test results; data handling and input; and trains new and current employees on procedures and policies. Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or in the chemical or biological sciences; and ASCP or AAB certification as MLS or MT.
