Production Operations Manager

SUMMARY

The Technical Operations Manager role is crucial to our growth. We seek someone to help motivate production teams to perform at high levels and maintain our quality standards. The ideal candidate will analyze, plan, and coordinate technical activities that ensure the division meets or exceeds its customers' (external and internal) requirements. They will take a technical role in Quality Planning to ensure the necessary resources are in place to meet SLA requirements. Improve processes, effectively coach and direct team members, continue to identify ways to increase product quality, and implement best practices across all levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Measures and monitors the daily and long-term technical activities of all departments. Reports concerns and recommendations to the respective Technical or Area Manager, including, but not limited to, technical Quality Measures and financial concerns that can affect the division's overall health.

·         Parts usage analysis 

·         Flat Rate Analysis

·         Warranty Rate Analysis

·         Exchange management

·         CCS analysis and recommendations

·         Outsourced service analysis

Coordinate with the technical managers to ensure that all technical policies, procedures, and processes meet the division's and our customers' short- and long-term initiatives.

Will take accountability, in conjunction with the Technical Managers, to assess test equipment, hardware, and bench configuration needs and manage the technical process flow that ensures we are meeting the needs of our customers and our QMS.

Identify employee and department performance trends and take appropriate action to meet United Radio's operating standards. Conduct performance appraisals on time, coach and motivate employees, and administer disciplinary actions when appropriate.

Serve as a point of contact on new program implementation. Perform needs assessment evaluations on the technical aspect of the program, working alongside the BI, IT, and administration operations departments. 

Continually review the balance between increased productivity and reduced manufacturing and repair operations costs. 

Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

Actively promotes, establishes, and maintains open and transparent communication channels with all department managers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES oversee the management of the technical, production, and quality departments.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prior people management experience required, Strong analytical, active listening, critical thinking, a d judgment skills.

Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management, with an emphasis on production management  

Excellent communication skills, demonstrate leadership ability, and growth minded.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to employees, top management, dealers, and manufacturers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to be a team leader, to motivate staff, teach skills, promote harmony, and be a staff advocate when necessary. Ability to make suggestions and decisions based on a "Big Picture" perspective. Ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities appropriately. Ability to devote whatever time and energy necessary to solve problems and keep United Radio operating profitably and effectively according to our standards. A working knowledge of spreadsheet software and prior experience working in an ERP system.
