MUSTANG ENGINEERING Project Manager, Sustaining Capital Projects in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager, Sustaining Capital Projects has responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of sustaining capital industrial projects in the range of $50k to $5M, in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) and quality, ensuring compliance with company and project procedures.

The Project Manager, Sustaining Capital Projects is responsible for contract matters during the project execution, ensuring all obligations of Wood are met, and has financial accountability for project results including revenue, margin, costs, and on time invoicing.

The Project Manager maintains effective lines of communication and a good working relationship with the client striving for customer satisfaction and repeat business. The Project Manager manages difficulties and issues that arise on the projects, and keeps relevant people informed.

Responsibilities:

Develop, contribute to, and or review project proposals for conformance with scope, technical requirements, timeframe, and staffing requirements. Arrange client and internal project kickoff meetings. Ensure project scope of work is performed and project objectives are met. Negotiate changes to project scope or specification with the customer. Prepare and implements project specific Project Management Plan (PMP) and Procedures, Instructions and Forms (PIFs). Develop HSSE plans and work with HSSE personnel to ensure plan is met. Approve Project Design Basis in conformance with technical requirements. Develop and maintain project coordination processes including meeting notes, Information Needs List and Project Action Log. Manage project budget and expenditures. Ensure project requirements for permits, licenses, and regulatory agency approvals are met. Organize and lead pla nning sessions, team building workshops and coordination meetings. Ensure an appropriate review process is implemented for the project including internal and Client project reviews, risk reviews, constructability, and independent peer reviews. Oversee and authorize project reports including accident, incident and near miss, monthly progress reports, other technical reports, regular and special project reports. Ensure effective validation and close-out of project including archiving of all relevant data and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Qualifications:

Undergraduate, or associate degree, in engineering. Experience in managing greenfield, or large brownfield projects is required ($50k to $5M) Over 10 years of experience in industrial projects environment, with construction / project execution experience, supporting the mining, minerals and or metals industry. Mining, minerals and or metals project experience is required. Will consider candidates with a combination of a minimum of 5 years mining or minerals project experience, along with heavy civil, petrochemical, or O&G project experience. Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM), or equivalent certification is preferred. Excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements:

Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time. Authorization to lawfully work in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
