Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the first level of supervision in a manufacturing unit in accordance with established policies and methods to meet production commitments

  • Initiate training, planning and assigning duties/daily work, actively assist or provide direction to subordinates as required, conduct performance appraisals, address performance issues and resolve performance problems

  • Monitor work operations and employee performance.

  • Supervise processes and procedures in warehouses, receiving and shipping, as well as the employees engaged in verifying and keeping record on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment,

  • Drive customer service and inventory results for assigned material codes.

  • Act as the Business Unit Manager's customer service champion and recommend actions to achieve service and inventory objectives.

  • Develop labor, productivity and utilization models to guarantee business unit capabilities are available to achieve production rates.

  • Coordinate with supply chain partners ensuring materials are available to achieve production plans.

  • Identify root causes to issues and recommend corrective actions in order to meet customer needs.

  • Aid in system planning parameters optimization to drive accurate productions signals (order minimums, multiples, maximums, lead time, yield, scrap rates, usage rates).

  • Provide information to track/trend customer service, inventory and performance metrics.

  • Oversee compliance with all regulatory, corporate and local policies, and all federal and state regulated programs.

  • Understand and adhere to Ethicon environmental and safety policies/guidelines, Johnson & Johnson Pollution Prevention Goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Work under general supervision with responsibility to make decision to meet operational objectives.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree required. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Technical Field is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Supply chain/operations experience.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred:

  • Experience in manufacturing.

  • Experience working as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.

  • Medical Device industry experience.

  • Experience working in a regulatory environment.

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) preferred.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions) is preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is preferred.

  • Experience with Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools and methodologies preferred.

  • Process Excellence/Six Sigma Certification is preferred.

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification is preferred.

Other:

  • Must be able to work 3rd Shift (6:00 pm - 6:30 am) 4 days rotation.

  • The ability to work occasional overtime, off-shift hours, weekends, and some holidays, based on business needs, is required.

  • The San Angelo Plant is a 24/7 operation; weekends and holidays are included in the work schedule.
