UnitedHealth Group Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - WellMed Networks, Inc - San Antonio, TX in San Antonio, Texas

A partner of the Optum Care network, WellMed Networks, Inc, is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our San Antonio Hospitalist Team in our Downtown Pod . Position Highlights:

  • SWING SHIFT:2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday – Thursday

  • This position my move to 7on/7off, 2:00pm-2:00am in the future

  • Be a part of a collaborative and comprehensive health care team

  • 100% of patients will have a WellMed employed, contracted, or affiliated PCP

  • Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient – physically, mentally, and socially

  • “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – 4 to 6 admissions a night

  • Patient panel is limited to geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage

  • Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics

Compensation/Benefits Highlights:

  • Base Salary plus Annual Quality Incentive with a target of $15,000

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • Current Licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners OR Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board

  • Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment

  • 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency

  • A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
