Navistar, Inc. Senior Manufacturing Launch Engineer in San Antonio, Texas

Position Overview

Navistar is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Launch Engineer to join our team at our Manufacturing Facility in San Antonio, TX.The Senior Manufacturing Launch Engineer will coordinate manufacturing requirements with appropriate engineering/manufacturing personnel to ensure successful implementation of product and/or process changes in the production line. In this position you will serve as liaison between manufacturing, operations, supply chain, quality, safety and other engineering departments to coordinate and assure the successful introduction and/or change of products and processes in the production line.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to analyze potential impact of new Products, features and/or process to be introduce in the manufacturing operations.

  • Support and assist with cross-functional teams in the introduction of new process and/or products.

  • Perform and execute training plans, prepare build books, coordinate pilot builds, and capture and follow up on all issues identified in the implementation process.

  • Develop, document, and maintain records regarding new process implementations, including but not limited to SWI and other process documents.

  • Participate in corrective actions related to internal or external defects.

  • Coordinate process readiness with cross-functional teams focused on safety and the quality of the product.

  • Monitor and support key metrics and KPIs for overall platform performance and process effectiveness.

  • Normally works independently. Receives minimal guidance, little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments. May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of product manufacturing experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
