Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and data entry for construction-related expenses

• Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and cash application for project billings

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies related to construction materials and subcontractor invoices

• Assist with job cost accounting, tracking project expenses and ensuring accurate allocation to specific projects

• Prepare and submit payroll reports for construction project labor costs, including certified payroll as required

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial reports and analysis of project profitability

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for construction projects

• Assist with compliance requirements related to prevailing wage rates, union agreements, and regulatory reporting for construction projects

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the construction industry or related field

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and processes, including job costing and progress billing, preferred

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers and other team members
