Are you an experienced accounting professional with a background in construction or manufacturing? Robert Half is currently seeking a skilled individual to join our team on a contract basis. As a Construction/Manufacturing Accounting Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of businesses in these industries. Responsibilities:

  • Manage project accounting processes, including job costing, revenue recognition, and progress billing.

  • Review and reconcile project budgets, costs, and revenue to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements and cash flow statements, tailored to the construction or manufacturing sector.

  • Monitor inventory-related transactions and reconcile inventory accounts regularly.

  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to track project expenses and analyze profitability.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making in construction or manufacturing operations.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

  • Previous experience in accounting roles within the construction or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Understanding of project accounting principles, including job costing and revenue recognition.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in construction or manufacturing accounting practices.
