Description Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Major responsibilities

• Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

• Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

• Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

• Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

• Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

• Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

• Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

• Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

• Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection Requirements - Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

• Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

• Strong familiarity with month end closings

• Blackbaud experience desired

• Non-profit fund accounting experience preferred

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

• Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
