Apple is seeking a Health Study Scientist to delightful research projects. This highly dynamic role drives both early stage investigations and large-scale research projects to develop new health technologies. Join our team and your research will impact millions of individuals all over the globe! The ideal candidate can support multiple simultaneous projects. To be successful, you will need an understanding of machine learning data needs, clinical research principles, and a proven ability to deliver engineering research projects. This role works directly with algorithm partners, clinical stakeholders, and study infrastructure teams to design research studies that directly enable engineering research and development. Key Qualifications

• Experience in data collection, user studies, or other research oriented fields

• Developing scientific research protocols, including all associated study documentation

• Capacity to quickly acquire familiarity with prototype data collection systems or emerging technologies

• Passion for tackling rapidly evolving study and data demands

• Strong advocacy for different users’ experiences

• Understanding of multidisciplinary research fundamentals

• Consistently clear communication across varying technical depths

Description

A successful Health Study Scientist will have excellent analytical and communication skills, strong ability to rapidly assess user experience considerations, and will thrive in a high performance organization. This is a highly collaborative role that integrates social science principles, clinical + physiological expertise, and an engineering mindset into unique data collection projects. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Collaborating with algorithm development engineers, clinical stakeholders, and regulatory experts to refine data needs into a methodical and user-centric research protocol Crafting a variety of intersecting research questions that power multiple programs Defining study demographic and population requirements Working both independently and in collaboration with highly technical teams on accelerated timelines Advocating for an excellent user experience that balances algorithm data needs with technical tools, operational impacts, and participant considerations Validate data collection plans using gold-standard reference devices Integrating multiple research modalities like surveys, AB testing, or longitudinal data to craft an efficient dataset for engineering partners Making data driven recommendations across multiple research fields that have high impact to product development Clearly communicating research findings to both technical and non-technical partner

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $125,800.00 and $229,400.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
