John Asdell with Robert Half is partner with a publicly traded technology company looking for a Manager in their Internal Audit group. The role would focus heavily on operational audits and partner closely with the business.

The ideal candidate would be a proactive and experienced Audit Manager with expertise in inventory risk controls. In this role, you will lead efforts to assess and enhance the effectiveness of our inventory management processes, identify areas of risk, and implement controls to mitigate inventory-related risks. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our company's assets and ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting by providing strategic recommendations to optimize inventory controls and minimize operational risks.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement a risk-based audit plan with a primary focus on inventory risk controls across various business units and operational functions.

· Lead and oversee audit engagements related to inventory management, including planning, execution, and reporting phases, in accordance with professional auditing standards and company policies.

· Conduct detailed assessments of inventory-related processes, controls, and systems to identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

· Evaluate the design and effectiveness of inventory controls, including inventory counting procedures, valuation methods, and inventory reconciliation processes.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights into inventory management challenges and develop pragmatic solutions to address identified risks.

· Assess compliance with inventory-related policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and recommend enhancements to ensure alignment with industry best practices.

· Prepare comprehensive audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and action plans for senior management review and implementation, with a specific focus on inventory risk controls.

· Provide guidance and mentorship to audit team members, leveraging your inventory risk control expertise to enhance their understanding and audit capabilities.

· Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory developments in inventory management and integrate best practices into audit methodologies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred.

· 7+ years of progressive experience between public accounting and industry

· Strong understanding of inventory management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).

· Demonstrated ability to lead and manage audit engagements related to inventory risk controls, including scoping, planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes, assess control deficiencies, and develop practical recommendations to mitigate inventory-related risks.

· Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

· Leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and mentor audit team members towards achieving common goals, leveraging your inventory risk control expertise.

· Proficiency in audit software applications and Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· Commitment to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in all audit activities.
