APR Consulting Inc Network Engineer in San Diego, California

Anaerospace clientis looking for aPrincipal Network - Electronics Engineerwho has expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.

Location:San Diego, CA 92123 Position:Principal Network - Electronics Engineer Pay Rate:$120.00/hr. on W2 Duration:12 months or longer Schedule:9x80 A Hybrid opportunity available.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Network-Electronics Engineer:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree OR 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree.
  • CLEARANCE: Must have or be able to obtain a Full Secret clearance before you start.
  • Expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE)
  • Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
  • Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS
  • Ability to operate with considerable independence, and to self-identify/pursue long-term interests.
  • Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
  • DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • On-site presence at San Diego Spectrum Center at least 50%
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 9 years of experience; OR 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree OR a minimum of 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree
  • CLEARANCE: Must have or be able to obtain a Full Secret clearance before you start.
  • Expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE)

Preferred Qualifications: A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent. Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE. Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs. Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures. Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2. Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL). Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
