National University Nursing Program Coordinator in San Diego, California
With strategic guidance, provide data and administrative support to faculty, staff, students and administrators in several nursing programs located in a San Diego suburb on the following programs: Generic BSN, RN to BSN, RN-MSN, MSN and Post-Graduate nursing programs. Supply administrative and staff support to multi-campus site students and nursing faculty. Collaborate with academic advisors as well as organize, lead and manage new student orientation. Facilitate interdepartmental communications and interactions between internal and external parties as well as support retention pursuits. Use a wide range of office skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Assist with special projects, preceptorship process, recommendations on process improvements and workflow development. Lead and contribute expertise in resolving complex academic student problems. Manage projects targeted to improve the student experience and retention as well as workflow productivity.
Compiles data for each respective program for reporting purposes, copies and scans documents, organizes and maintains electronic and paper filing systems. Facilitates and tracks student preceptorship placements in adherence to required guidelines.
Assists and directs visitors inquires; composes, edits and proofreads correspondence and reports and prepares a range of administrative documents. Administers cyclical academic processes.
Organizes and manages inquiries from internal staff and faculty, student and parties external to the University.
Conducts specified statistical, financial and program specific research within assigned projects.
Assists the Nursing Department Chair with adherence to college policies and procedures and nursing program accreditation requirements. Helps with the planning of simulated activities
Collaborates with all levels of University staff, including academic advisors and counselors, and provides exemplary customer service.
Maintains master clinical schedule and records through Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software such as Typhon database to include clinical site information.
Coordinates paperwork for students? clinical evaluative process (including researching and locating appropriate clinical sites to meet course outcomes), graduation, and certification processes.
Partners with University staff to create templates for program recruitment as well as maintain various database related to the sustaining information, data and inventory for the success of the program; updates additional documents and/or materials for student program.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor?s degree in related field, preferred; two (2) years? experience in servicing students from a diverse population within an educational setting; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to provide customer service in a courteous, prompt and capable manner and the ability to work successfully with faculty, administrators, staff and students.
Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook including Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software applications used in student programs within a higher education setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have experience in public speaking.
