Overview
Kimley-Horn's Escondido office is seeking a professional with 5+years of experience to join the Hydrogen team within the greater Zero-Emissions vehicles practice! This position is in-person/in-office.
Responsibilities
Be a leader in a growing, multidisciplinary hydrogen / zero-emissions vehicles practice.
Manage the planning, and design of hydrogen projects. Hydrogen projects may include the following:
Hydrogen Fueling Stations
Hydrogen Storage Facilities
Hydrogen Production Facilities
Transit Facility Upgrades for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Refueling and Maintenance
Zero-Emissions Vehicles Transition Plans
Apply knowledge of hydrogen storage and dispensing infrastructure, zero-emissions vehicles, and site development to support the advancement of hydrogen projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) to ensure successful project execution.
Effectively communicate directly with clients, community leaders, and agency staff to provide updates, propose recommendations, and address concerns or questions.
Foster the growth and professional development of junior staff.
Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to quality.
Balance priorities among multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
Project Management:
Lead and manage projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Prepare and present project updates and reports to clients and stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance:
Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for projects.
Ensure project designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning and environmental requirements.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure project compliance.
Must have working knowledge of NFPA-2 hydrogen technologies code.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum or Environmental Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related engineering field (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, petroleum or environmental), preferably with a focus on Hydrogen
Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to summarize and relay complex information to a wide audience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies
Experience with engineering design and construction document review
Salary Range:
$110,000 to $155,000
