The Release Validation Engineering team builds automation, tools, applications, and services to ensure we are able to ship software to our billions of customers! We are seeking an Automation Engineer to help us ensure that our macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS releases continue to be stable, reliable, and bug-free. Our group works in a fast-paced environment and you will work with groundbreaking technology while enhancing our testing capabilities for new features.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years developing UI automation, preferably in Apple frameworks such as XCTest.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Swift, and Bash. Experience with Git and codebase management.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing, etc).

  • Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including experience in finding, investigating, and fixing bugs.

  • Experience with developing test strategies, including writing test plans, test cases, custom tools, and testing architectures.

  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.

  • Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results.

  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.

  • An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple.

Description

This position requires a motivated, highly technical engineer to create, maintain, and expand automated UI testing for iOS and macOS. You will help drive our testing capabilities for all platforms we ship as well as triage the results to find issues before they impact our customers. Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $125,800.00 and $229,400.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
