Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Sonographer - Perinatology (CSSD) in San Diego, California

This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Perinatologist and Department Manager but with minimal supervision, the sonographer performs ultrasound examinations on adults. Exercises independent judgment and ingenuity to perform a variety of sonographic examinations that require a comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The professional level of this health care service requires a highly skilled and competent individual who functions as an integral member of the health care team. The sonographer must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. The sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED equivalent (Required if no Associate degree is provided)

Associates Degree - Graduate of an approved school for Diagnostic Ultrasound (approved by AMA and American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine) or equivalent years of experience

Physics (SPI) ARDMS Certification

OBGYN ARDMS Certification

CPR/BLS Certification (AHA)

Good communication skills

Previous experience in OB/GYN; preferred in MFM

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1 – 2 years of experience

Current NT certification with NTQR or FMF

Bilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages that meet business needs of the division

The expected hiring range for this position is $48.03 to $66.05
