Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in managing the financial activities of our institution/organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, general ledger, and account reconciliations

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and reports

• Monitor and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to support financial decision-making

• Prepare and submit financial reports to internal stakeholders and external entities as required

• Assist with grant accounting and reporting for funded programs or projects

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance, including assisting with procurement and expense management

• Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices relevant to the education sector

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the education sector or non-profit organizations

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
