Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the organization's financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting our mission-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, general ledger, and account reconciliations

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and reports

• Monitor and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to support financial decision-making

• Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors, donors, and other stakeholders as required

• Assist with annual audit preparation and coordination with external auditors

• Collaborate with program managers and other departments to provide financial support and guidance

• Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices relevant to non-profit organizations

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
