Are you an experienced Staff Accountant with a background in retail or e-commerce? Robert Half is seeking a talented individual to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the financial operations of retail or e-commerce businesses. Join us and contribute your skills to a dynamic and growing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts tailored to the retail or e-commerce sector.

• Monitor inventory-related transactions and reconcile inventory accounts regularly.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of sales, discounts, and returns.

• Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.

• Conduct periodic audits of sales transactions and reconcile discrepancies.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making in a retail or e-commerce environment.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

• Previous experience in accounting roles within the retail or e-commerce industry strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with retail-specific accounting practices, such as inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS).

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.

• Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in a retail or e-commerce setting.
