Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Sterile Processing Tech II - Sterile Processing in San Diego, California

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the proper decontamination, assembly, packaging and sterilization of instruments and equipment for RCHSD, in addition to maintaining the proper supply chain inventories for the Surgical Services Department. Minimizes the operating expenses for the patient and facility without compromising the quality of patient care. Follows established RCHSD Sterile Processing policies and procedures based on the ANSI/AAMI Standards ST79. Ability to take care of patients or patient equipment in the area in which you work, including the ability to handle patients with an airborne-transmitted disease. Must be able to comply with infection control standards that may evolve over time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent (Minimum)

2 years of experience

Certified Central Service Technician (CRST) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)

2 years of experience in a Sterile Processing Tech II position

Computer skills

Demonstrates ability to work proficiently and independently in all areas of SPD

Must be able to demonstrate both competency and the ability to train others in all areas of Sterile Processing, including: decontamination, processing, use of all equipment, trouble shooting, and high level disinfection

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM)

Experience in Supply Chain Management

5 years pediatric-specific experience

The expected hiring range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36
