Tactical Engineering & Analysis, INC System Administrator in San Diego, California

Overview

We are currently seeking System Administrator to provide support for Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific Integrated Fires program.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in System Administration (Intermediate - Advanced), of Windows, Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux (REL) installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Create Risk Management Framework (RMF) submissions for new systems and updates for pre-existing systems. Collect and review related information security artifacts (i.e. certifications, test results, configuration documentation) for CandA review.
  • Upload and configuration of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tools and various Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) related software to mitigate vulnerability detection and or meet corrective action requirements.
  • Assists with troubleshooting Windows, Ubuntu and REL Platform technical issues, administrative issues, and bug fixes. Execute patch management, including installation of appropriate security reinforcement measures and updates.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows, Ubuntu and REL server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated basic network engineer knowledge and experience; to include cloud network infrastructure design, installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis, Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 15% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
  • Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner.

Verbal Communications:

  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Qualifications

Customer Interface Activities:Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing expectations.

Work Schedule: 9/80 with the ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Travel:<15%

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma with nine years of experience
  • Desired Bachelors Degree in technical field (e.g. Information Systems, Information Technolgy, Computer Science, EE) with six years of experience

Required Certifications:IAT Level 2 (CompTIA Security + and an Operating System)

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance, prefered Top Secret, OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
