Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Design Cost Consultant construction professional with cost coordination experience who is looking for the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of post-graduate experience supporting large-scale Data Center or relatable construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation, analysis and approval of A/E cost proposals and any subsequent change orders, including:

  • Review of proposed A/E staff hours, FTEs, distribution between disciplines etc.

  • Verification of blended rates as well as staff hourly rates.

  • Overall efficiency calculations.

  • Verification against approved budget for the associated scope.

  • Comparative analysis against applicable global & regional benchmarks.

  • Math checking.

  • Alternates & allowance identification and evaluation.

  • Assist Design Execution team with A/E Resource Bandwidth Models.

  • Approval of hourly rates.

  • Update & maintain cost benchmarking database/ dashboard.

  • Provide input on Vendor RFPs as needed.

  • Create budgets and forecasts to support project & program initiatives.

  • Provide oversight of vendor selection, progress of vendors, progress reports, change orders, cashflows, project completion and review of close out documents.

  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes.

  • Experience in Data Center Project Controls is preferred

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience supporting large-scale Data Center, or relatable construction projects.

  • College degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.

  • Understanding of design & construction industry (intermediate level).

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills. Strong MS excel, datasheets, PPT skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite of applications.

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas is prefered: cost planning, estimating, pre-contract & post contract.

  • Experience in cost proposal negotiations

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Drive to be proactive and self-motivated.

  • Organized and thorough with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with project teams.

  • Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers!

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $110K-$140K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.  Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
